Accounting Department Overview

Dwight Seoul is currently hiring for a Senior Accountant position. This full-time role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, internationally-minded educational environment. The ideal candidate should have 8 to 12 years of professional experience in accounting, fluency in both Korean and English, and proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong financial expertise, sound business judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external stakeholders.

 

Senior Accountant 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing and managing the school’s daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset management, and banking transactions. This role also supports the Finance Controller in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, internal and external audits, and compliance with school policies and relevant regulations. Additionally, the Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the efficiency and integrity of the school’s financial systems.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure monthly and annual financial closing in accordance with the group’s defined timelines, facilitating MIS reporting (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) and preparing standard reports for Corporate Finance.
  • Support the Finance Controller and Head of School (HoS) in developing the school’s annual budget.
  • Monitor budget performance on a monthly basis, preparing financial forecasts and addressing discrepancies promptly.
  • Manage accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy in record-keeping and collection processes.
  • Oversee all bank transactions, regularly monitoring fund management to optimize resource utilization.
  • Assist in preparing cash flow projections, financial scenarios, and strategic forecasts as required by the Finance Controller.
  • Handle accounting for student activity funds, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Ensure statutory and tax compliance, including VAT filings and withholding income tax.
  • Manage government insurance fee processing, including withholding and payments.
  • Prepare monthly payroll transactions, followed by annual income tax filings and severance payments.
  • Prepare reports for government regulatory bodies upon request by the Finance Controller.
  • Develop and maintain updated accounting policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Coordinate annual internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with AICPA certificate is preferred
  • Over 8 to 12 years of professional experience in accounting
  • Experience in an international or multinational working environment is preferred
  • Proficiency in ERP system and Microsoft Excel
  • Fluency in both spoken and written Korean and English is required
