The Social-Emotional Counselor plays a key role in supporting the well-being, resilience, and personal growth of students across grades K-12. This position focuses on promoting social-emotional learning, providing short-term counseling, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and administrators to foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment. The counselor will be an integral member of the student support services team, contributing to both preventative programming and responsive interventions in line with the school’s mission and values. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to supporting students’ intellectual, emotional, and social growth and preparing them for success in a globalized world. The core purpose of our school is student learning, and teachers play a vital role in fostering an environment that promotes academic growth and development. This position requires upholding DIS’s commitment to child safeguarding. All staff are expected to contribute to a safe and supportive environment for children and are responsible for reporting any concerns about a child’s well-being to our Designated Safeguarding Lead.
