Korea Foreign School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate paraprofessional to provide one-on-one support for an amazing student in our learning support program.
The ideal candidate will be a vital partner in our student’s success throughout his learning journey. This proactive role is essential to his educational plan, designed to empower him fully to access the curriculum and thrive in his academic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one academic and social support to help the student remain regulated and ready to learn.
Foster a strong rapport with the student, modeling and facilitating positive social emotional development
Assist the student in assimilating through formal school routine, ensuring his safe and smooth navigation of the school environment during transitions between classes and breaks.
Collaborate with the learning support team, homeroom teachers, and specialists to prepare and implement strategies, accommodations, and modifications that align with the student’s needs.
Ensure the student’s safety and well-being to explore and participate fully in his learning community.
Communicate student updates to parents, teachers, and the learning support team.
Requirements:
Experience and a background in special education (highly preferred).
Excellent English communication skills.
The ability to remain calm and positive in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
Patience, flexibility, and a high degree of empathy.
Successful completion of a background and health check.
