Overview of Role:
SPAS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced College Counselor to join our team. Our College Counselors also serve as advisors and educators for our students. Candidates with teaching experience and a desire to build students holistically through other topics will be considered first. College Counselors are responsible for:

• College counseling on applications, essays, coaching students, 1:1 student mentoring sessions, parent college counseling sessions, career and college goal monitoring, academic tracking and planning, and building SPAS traditions for college culture
• Advisement for academics, teaching academic skills relevant to all subjects in preparation for college, and being a communicator with parents as an advisor to high school students
• Teaching in assigned elective classes that give students a foundational understanding of finance, personal health and well-being, as well as stress management as skills nd knowledge for college life

Candidates Must Have:

• A proven track record of college placements from previous positions 
• We are not open to new candidates looking to start in College Counseling
• Best practices for organizing students, meeting with parents, connecting students with opportunities for extracurriculars, and a history of paving pathways of success for college applications
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills for adolescents 
• Current knowledge and practices of multiple college application systems

Rouitine

• Work Day: 7:40AM – 4:40PM
• Once a week: -4:50PM for Staff Meetings
• Weekly Student Contact Hours: 25
• Class Hours: 20
• ASA: Included in Contact Hours
• Other Duties: Lunch/Recess supervision, included in Contact Hours
• Contract Term: Annual
• Renewable upon successful evaluation and mutual agreement 

Reports To:
Vice Principal, School Principal, Academic Affairs Manager & General Manager

This role will remain open until filled. SPAS is seeking an excellent candidate who can build trust with parents, direction for students, and confidence for a college counseling program to make SPAS synonymous with an excellent counseling and mentorship program in Korea.
