Details of the Position

  1. Job title: Adjunct Professor
  2. Period of Contract: September 01, 2024 – August 31, 2025
  3. Teaching Load: 18 contact hours per week in three-hour blocks teaching listening, speaking and writing.
  4. Salary & Qualifications:

Salary (per month) is dependent on qualifications and experience as follows.

– 2,800,000 won MA+TESOL Certificate+ more than one year ESL/EFL experience

– 2,700,000 won MA + more than one year ESL/EFL experience

  1. Job Description:

Adjunct Professors are required to teach university credit classes of 18 hours per week. Adjunct Professors may be required to teach up to 3 hours per week of overtime. (Additional hours beyond the contractual 18 contact hours per week are compensated at the overtime rate of 30,000 won.)

The Adjunct Professor will teach four semesters, with fall and spring being 16 weeks long followed by short winter and summer semesters of 5 weeks duration.

  1. Starting Date and Orientation Session:

The starting date for this position will be September 01, 2024.

The candidate must be available for an approximately four-hour orientation session at a mutually agreed upon date before September 01.

  1. Housing:

University–owned, rent-free, furnished, one-bedroom apartment off campus. (Alternatively, a two-bedroom apartment might be available at an additional 100,000 won per month.)

A security deposit is deducted from the first month’s salary and will be returned when you check out. And you are responsible for any fees including utilities, gas, internet, apartment maintenance fees, etc.

  1. Vacations:

A total of 10 weeks paid vacation, not including national holidays.

  1. Additional Benefits:

Adjunct Professors will be eligible for National Health Insurance and National Pension Service with monthly premiums made by the Adjunct Professor and the University.

A successful candidate will be REQUIRED TO SUBMIT the following documents within a week of receiving an offer of a contract:
1. University diplomas of your bachelor’s degree and your highest degree that are confirmed by the Apostille agreement (for participating countries), or by a Korean embassy or consulate abroad (for non-apostille-participant-countries)
2. University transcripts for your diplomas
3. Official work record (경력증명서­)

  1. Relevant certificates such as TESOL, TEFL
  2. Two (2) letters of recommendation
    6. Passport size photo
  3. Release letter (if employed in Korea & leaving current job early)
