Visiting Professor (Native Speaker)

Visiting English Professor at Kongju National University

We are seeking qualified and experienced English Visiting Professors to join the Liberal Arts Education Center of Kongju National University. The Liberal Arts Education Center administers credit Freshman English classes.

Position Details

• Number of employees hired: 1 in total
• Campus: 1 person at Gongju Campus (Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do)
• Starting date: March 1, 2025
• Contract Period: March 1, 2025 – February 28, 2026, with a possibility of renewal.

Working Conditions

• Teaching Days: 5 Days (Monday-Friday)
• Total Teaching Hours: 24 hours a week
  • 24 hours of Freshman classes: Communication in English (Speaking & Writing) Ⅰ, Ⅱ.
  • If you teach more than 24 hours, you will get an overtime charge.
  • If you teach less than 24 hours, additional tasks may be given.
• Monthly Salary Range: 2.6 million won (holders of MA), 2.7 million won (holders of Ph.D).
• Housing Allowance: If living in a rental house, some monthly allowance will be given.
• Overtime: 27,000 won/hour.
• Occasional staff meetings and work-related responsibilities will occur.

• 50% support for 4 major social insurance policies.
• Up to 20 weeks of paid vacation per year.

Qualifications

• Native English Speaker.
• Holders of an MA with at least 2 years of teaching experience at an officially approved institute.
• (Preferred) Majored in areas related to Education, English education, or English literature.
• (Preferred) Holders of English education certificates (e.g. TESOL/TEFL/CELTA).
• Must attend a face-to-face interview. (If not, you will not be considered).

2. A copy of Diploma(s) affixed with an Apostille or A copy of Diploma verified by the Korean consulate in your native country or A copy of Diploma attached with documents issued by the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE).
3. Transcripts (Undergraduate and Graduate).
4. 15-week lecture plan for Communication in English (Speaking & Writing).
   • ※ For the textbook, we use Pearson Start Up 2 Student Book.
5. Employment History Form.
6. Copies of Teaching Certificate(s) (Teacher’s certificate, TESOL/TEFL/CELTA etc.).
7. Copy of Passport: Photo / Information Page.
8. If Applicable: copy of Alien Registration Card.
9. Criminal Record Check.
10. Two letters of Recommendation.
