Full-time English lecturer

Teaching Position at Seoul National University of Education

We are looking for a dedicated and responsible full-time English lecturer to work at the Department of English Education at Seoul National University of Education (http://www.snue.ac.kr).

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree or higher in humanities, education, or social sciences (preferred areas: TESOL education)
• Minimum 2-year experience of English teaching in University
• Native English speaker
• Other disqualifications are subject to the university’s recruitment regulations

Working conditions/Payment

• Teaching area: English speaking, English writing, Classroom English, Advanced English conversation for undergraduates, and 1 or 2 lectures for graduates.
• Position: Full-time lecturer.
• Contract: 1-year contract (September 1, 2024 – August 31, 2025), annually renewable.
• Teaching hours: Minimum of 14 hours per week for both graduate and undergraduate courses (98,900 won per class hour).
• Extra payment for teaching hours exceeding 14 hours per week (40,000 won per class hour).
• Option for additional teaching at the language center affiliated with SNUE (extra payment).
• Benefits: pension and medical insurance.
• Bonus: 1 month’s severance bonus upon completion of the contract.

• Copy of academic transcripts from all universities attended
• Copy of teaching certificates (TESOL, TEFL, CELTA/RSA), if available
• Copy of the personal particulars page of your passport (with photo) and current visa designation
• Copy of alien registration card (if applicable)
• Copy of Criminal Background Check from the Central Government (Successful candidates must submit it with an Apostille)
