Assistant Professor of English, Dong-A University
Dong-A University in Busan is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor for the College of General Education. This is a two-year contract.
We are looking for a creative and dynamic teacher to join our English faculty. The primary goal is to improve students’ English fluency and prepare them to thrive in global environments. You will teach core, credited English conversation classes to non-English majors, with an emphasis on global culture. While a textbook and curriculum exist, you will have the freedom to design lessons that encourage student interaction and focus on specific language and philosophical themes.
Position Details
- Workload: A minimum of 12 credit hours per week (with potential for paid overtime). The academic year consists of two 15-week semesters. You will be responsible for creating midterm and final exams.
- Annual Salary: ₩30,000,000 KRW or higher, depending on overtime and other opportunities.
- Benefits:
- Health & Pension: National Health Insurance and Pension.
- Vacation: Over 20 weeks of paid vacation, including 10 weeks during summer and winter breaks, plus national holidays.
- Housing: On-campus dormitory housing is an option. Alternatively, a monthly housing allowance of ₩350,000 KRW will be added to your salary.
Qualifications
- Native English speaker.
- Must be a current resident of Korea with an E-2 or F-series visa.
- A master’s degree or higher is required (English-related majors are preferred).
- Priority will be given to candidates with at least two years of teaching experience at the university level.
